What is PrintScale for?
PrintScale helps photographers, designers and print customers enlarge a good source image for a physical print. Set a print long side in centimetres and a DPI value, then download TIFF, PNG and JPG files.
About PrintScale
The space between a good image and a good print should be easier to understand.
A photo can look sharp on a laptop and turn soft on a wall. The missing piece is often the relationship between pixels, print size and viewing distance.
PrintScale puts print dimensions at the centre of the workflow. Choose a long side in centimetres, set the DPI, and check the output resolution before processing. A familiar A-size can be a starting point; your source image keeps its own proportions.
We use an AI upscaling engine to enlarge the source and provide TIFF, PNG and JPG downloads. The free preview uses the same engine to process a small centre crop, so you can inspect a real result on your own image.
Enlargement has limits. A missed focus, motion blur or heavily compressed original may still produce a disappointing print. Start with the best source you have and ask your printer what their process needs.

Pixels on a screen.
A place on your wall.
A little more detail
PrintScale helps photographers, designers and print customers enlarge a good source image for a physical print. Set a print long side in centimetres and a DPI value, then download TIFF, PNG and JPG files.
The engine enlarges images using AI and resizes the result to the requested long-side pixel target. It preserves the source aspect ratio. It does not automatically crop your composition to fit a paper size, and larger enlargement can introduce or amplify artefacts.
Each image is priced in dollars by print size, from $2.49 for an A4 poster to $6.99 for an A1 poster or an A3 fine art file at 600 DPI. Pay by card per image or keep a balance that never expires; there is no subscription. A watermarked centre-crop preview is available without an account.
Completed files are available for three days after processing. Download and save them yourself; PrintScale is a processing service, not a long-term image archive. Temporary anonymous previews are cleaned up after 24 hours.
